Project

2018_018 Baclofen and Motor Learning

Description

This protocol was used in a neuroimaging study where baclofen or placebo was administered to healthy participants in order to investigate the effects of increasing brain inhibition on motor learning and brain neurochemicals. The experimental design is described in more detail in the paper "Baclofen, a GABAB receptor agonist, impairs motor learning in healthy people and changes inhibitory dynamics in motor areas": https://doi.org/10.1162/IMAG.a.979

Keywords

rs-fMRI

Acquisition Time

0h:6m:10s

Description

Resting state fMRI scan acquired with a T2*-weighted 2D multiband EPI sequence.

Participants were asked to fixate on a white cross presented on a black screen, to blink normally, and to try not to fall asleep.

Keywords

BOLD

Acquisition Time

0h:6m:40s

Description

Task fMRI scan acquired with a T2*-weighted 2D multiband EPI sequence.

Participants were asked to complete the action selection task during this scan. During execute blocks, they had to press a button in response to any shape they saw on the screen. During select blocks, they were asked to press either button one or two, depending on the shape and size of the cue displayed on the screen.

Field map image for bias field correction of the fMRI data

Outputs a magnitude and a phase image

Pilot Jan 2019 → Sequence 10: bold_mbep2d_2mm_MB6_v2

Keywords

BOLD

Acquisition Time

0h:6m:40s

Description

Task fMRI scan acquired with a T2*-weighted 2D multiband EPI sequence.

Participants were asked to complete the serial reaction time task during this scan. Participants were asked to press buttons with their right hand depending on the cues displayed on the screen. There were random blocks, with randomly presented cues, and sequence blocks, where the cues follow a 12-button sequence repeated 5 times in each block. More information on the SRTT is presented in the paper.
